Marincello Trail is currently a beautiful trail that loops in between Oakwood and Tennessee Valley and inclines along the high bald ridge to the south to reach the Rodeo Valley. While hiking the trail or viewing these images, you may notice the stunning scenery and open valley, which is home to a vast range of animals and plants. These breathtaking valleys of Marin Headlands are flanked by three beaches, and the glistening Pacific Ocean can even be seen peeking out from the hills.
However, if Thomas Frouge and the Gulf Oil Corp had been successful in carrying out their plan for Marincello, this wouldn't be the case. In 1960, Thomas Frouge, a real estate developer from Pittsburgh, had the vision of turning the beautiful picturesque area which is now known as the Marin Headlands into a planned community. The beautiful trail which you are currently walking on or reading about would have been part of the main boulevard of this planned community. And the view that makes Marin one of the most beautiful areas around the world would have been covered by homes, apartments, townhouses, shopping centers, hotels, swimming pools, and restaurants.
